HOME OFFICE PROJECT
TimeOutBox
Ever wondered what to do with that empty space in your garden? Miguel van Hellemont, founder of TimeOutBox, has made it possible to create your own cozy spot with his innovative modular box. With TimeOutBox, Miguel provides a high-quality, modular building without weeks of construction time that helps transform the way people work, relax and spend time in their own gardens.
With the help of Live Light, TimeOutBox’s first showroom was ready to inspire others. We spoke with Miguel van Hellemont, founder of TimeOutBox, to learn more about his vision.
"Live Light is the perfect match for me. I wanted to furnish the TimeOutBox in a visually appealing way, and the furniture Live Light offers creates a cosy atmosphere.”

A Time-out Space
With a rich history in business, Miguel originally ran a company focused on visual merchandising and promotional materials for over 20 years. He recognised the importance of taking breaks and technology “time-outs” throughout his busy schedule.” After selling his previous business, Miguel sought a new journey and noticed that his children desired a 'parent-free' space. This led to brainstorming sessions that led him to create modular buildings where individuals could spend quality time, whether it was for relaxation, work, or hobbies. Thus, the start of TimeOutBox. Miguels original goal was to make people happy and offer them a space they can enjoy.
The demand for a garden oasis boomed during the COVID-19 pandemic, so individuals could have a space with less distractions while they worked from home.

"I always start by showing the TimeOutBox furnished to the customer, showcasing that cosy atmosphere, with Live Light furniture, is important to understand the concept.”

The Choices of TimeOutBox
Innovative Modular Options
The workplace zones are the most built TimeOutBoxes, which can typically be converted into a chill zone later in the day. Whether you’re interested in creating a chill, work, sport or hobby zone, each TimeOutBox is tailored to your needs. The most popular TimeOutBox is typically 18 sq. meters in size with a lot of windows to let in direct light. Most people opt for laminate flooring and Gyproc walls for that homey feel.
"The special thing about TimeOutBox is that at first you have nothing in your garden, and then within an hour you have your own special space without weeks of construction" mentions Miguel. For Miguel, his own TimeOutBox project was the most intriguing, functioning not only as a showroom, but also a place his entire family enjoys.

"I'm a big fan of Ethnicraft. I have many items, ranging from the N701 sofas to natural oak furniture. The small accessories that Live Light offers, such as the DCW lights, really help finish the space and make it comfy!"
