Plein Publiek
Plein Publiek is well-known for its buzz-worthy reputation in event scene: from corporate events to nightlife. But Plein Publiek is so much more than a great party location. They are joining forces with Blue Gate Antwerp to transform the former “Petroleum Zuid” site into the most circular area development in Flanders.
In August 2021, they moved to their new location, and while they are still finetuning some of their containers, they were in need of some furniture for their meeting room space. And that’s how Plein Publiek came to Live Light!

A circular co-workspace
A long, solid wooden oak meeting table with matching Bok dining chairs fills the meeting room of the event and co-workspace Plein Publiek in the south of Antwerp. In the corner, there’s a lounge area with the Ellipse sofa two coffee tables, and a soft Kilim rug.
The atmosphere is warm and homely, but at the same time professional. “The table has built-in sockets, it was specially designed for our professional market”, says Prisca (co-founder of Live Light).
That there is furniture from Live Light at Plein Publiek is thanks to Nelson Donck, one of the co-founders of Plein Publiek.

Circular Economy
Plein Publiek saw the light of day in 2015, back then, they were housed in the “Fierensblokken” in the South of Antwerp. In 2018, the event venue moved for the first time, to the site behind the courthouse on New South to find a new home at the Blue Gate business park.
The climate-neutral business park is reserved for innovative companies with a clear ambition: linear growth thanks to circular work. Start-ups and co-workers can rent a workspace in one of the containers. “We want to grow even more than before into a knowledge centre for circular economy”, Nelson says.
"For us, renting furniture is much more interesting than buying it anyway. We also want to use this space as a showcase model for other companies that come here for meetings. That way, they will get to know the concept of renting furniture."
