How to take care of your wooden furniture rentals
Do you find yourself swooning over the warm glow of your rented wooden designs? We get it! Wood has this timeless charm that can make any space feel cosy and inviting. Whether you're a proud owner of Live Light’s wooden rental pieces or just have a soft spot for all things wooden, taking care of your cherished furniture is a key part of maintaining that beautiful warmth. To make it last even longer, here are 5 care tips to keep the love alive and the wood thriving!
1. Dust-off regularly
Take care of your furniture by showing it some love weekly. Grab a soft cloth or a feather duster for regular dusting. For cleaning or in case of a spill, wipe dry immediately to prevent marking the surface by using a damp cloth and natural soap. Remember to always wipe in the direction of the woodgrain.
Pamper the furniture you rent, and let the love for wood blossom!
2. Avoid exposure to extreme conditions
Keep your wood happy by avoiding extreme conditions or humidity levels. Too much moisture can lead to warping, and too little can leave your rented furniture feeling parched. A humidifier in dry climates or a dehumidifier in humid ones can be the unsung heroes of your wooden love story.
As a rule: never place wooden furniture near heating sources or air-conditioned spaces.

3. No sun, no problem!
Just like you protect your skin from the sun, your wooden furniture deserves the same loving care. Direct sunlight can fade and damage the wood over time, so consider strategically placing your furniture away from harsh rays. Also move objects like vases or flowerpots placed on your rented furniture from time to time to prevent marking and open your extendable table on a regular basis. If there's no other place for your wooden furniture than next to the sun, then embrace some UV-blocking curtains or blinds to keep those damaging beams at bay.
4. Party responsibly around the wood
We get it – spills happen. But let's be honest; your rented wooden furniture isn't a big fan of impromptu liquid refreshment parties. Be cautious with drinks; if a spill occurs, don't leave it hanging. Wipe it up promptly with a soft, dry cloth and don’t forget to always wipe in the direction of the wood grain. We also recommend protecting surfaces with coasters, mousepads, or placemats to prevent hot pots and pans, or cold glasses and bottles, from leaving marks on your rented wooden furniture.
5. No chemicals, ever!
Just like a good skincare routine, your wooden furniture needs products that are gentle and kind. Steer clear of abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals – they can strip away the natural beauty of the wood. Opt for a mild soap.
Do not use soap containing detergent or other chemicals on the furniture you rent with Live Light.
